European Integration has a major meaning for daily life, though this is in many cases not fully recognised. Talking about the EU usually means talking about the institutions and "Brussels". Although there is some truth in this, all these decisions have huge impact on daily life. Furthermore, Europe means to some extent as well to look at the member states - it are the national politicians who are deciding what the EU actually means and which measures Brussels takes.

And not least, it are the activities and opinions of the populations and political and civil-society groups that influence the process of European integration.

The European Social, Organisational and Science Consultancy has set as its aim to critically accompany this process. European integration must focus on the interests of the people. A sustainable future for Europe can only develop from taking people's interest as its focus. For this, social policy cannot be a well-balanced annex to economic policies. Rather, the focus must be the social quality of Europe.
